Minor Rant

What a week, Sox lose three of four to the Yankees. Tell me that doesn't suck! The weather's been hot and muggy, with no end in sight. I'm trying to find time to write and when I find inspiration I'm usually in the middle of something else, without a pen, paper or computer in sight.

On the other hand, the London tragedy leaves me with the feeling that all the post 9/11 posturing, political grandstanding, and military actions have left this world no safer than it was before 2001. Should they pull the troops home and let Iraq settle itself into the chaos of Somalia and pre-Karzai Afghanistan? I don't have the answer, and neither do the politicians who make the decisions, nor any of the thousands of people who use these forums to comment on these events daily!
