Change is Good....(sometimes)

It's been a while since I've posted regularly. Seems every time I have a good idea to put up, something inevitably comes up to get in the way of me sitting down and writing about it. Writing was supposed to be a career, but it didn't quite end up that way. And that's the problem, "Ending Up." Everybody winds up at some point in their life doing something they don't want to just for the sake of making a living. It may come from having to pay the rent/mortgage, child's education, fixing that beat up old heap in the driveway, health problems, etc.
But what do you call it when you fall into something just for the sake of having something to do with your time? Taking that paycheck because you have to pay the bills and your ambitions in life have to be pushed aside for a while? And you still have all of these career aspirations that get lost in the 9 to 5 shuffle?
I was thinking about my own mortality the other day and what my mark on this world would be right now. A few ideas scribbled on scraps of paper, a couple of photographs, a few bars of music here and there and that was it! Maybe I've got the next 50 years to turn them into something and maybe I don't. The only people who seem to be reading this are comment spammers anyway! Maybe I should stop writing this and get to work!

Me Anonymous

I was doing a Google search on something and decided to look myself up. And I found absolutely nothing that corresponds with me. I decided to call this blog "Not Exactly Me" because I liked the idea of posting something fairly personal, but not identifiable to those who stumble upon it. It's me, but as they say in that car rental commercial "Not Exactly!"

Rainy Day Ravings

Just picked up a magazine called "Guitar & Bass" because they had Frank Zappa on the cover.
I've been working on a number of things, including taking another photography class, designing a tattoo for a friend, and a couple of music-related projects.
I've been listening to a lot of Porcupine Tree lately, since I recently saw them in concert again. A great band, I highly recommend them!

Current Listening:

Porcupine Tree- Deadwing
Blackfield- (self titled)
Thelonius Monk- The Essential
Wilco- A Ghost Is Born
Pavement- Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
