Springtime.....

When a young man's fancy turns to the girl of his dreams. And he wonders why she wouldn't give him the time of day. Suppose I could say our paths crossed for a brief moment. Maybe that was enough. All I know is my head is full of more songs and ideas than I can find time to create. Yet the inspiration for it all is somewhere on the other side of the pond, totally unaware and moving along on her journey of life as if she never met me. I don't feel insignificant!

My Ideas Are Too Vague!

Isn't that what the premise of a documentary project is supposed to be? Once you start into it, the project will take a direction of it's own. That's what gives your project focus, not planning everything out ahead of time. It's supposed to "document" the journey from Point A to Point B, not focus all the attention on Point B and forget about how you got there. Maybe that's the difference between photography and film. Maybe I had the wrong idea going into this class.

Time and Space and.......

"When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That's relativity." - Albert Einstein
I usually don't post anything that happens to me at work, but I was having a conversation with one of my vendor reps today about the passage of time and I remembered the above quote. It made me think of how things have been going lately. I need more of the first type of moments, maybe I'm looking for a change!

Slacking A Bit

Not really, since I've started my new class. It's going to involve a lot of time and effort, that is if I can find a subject for my project. Spring is coming and that leads to a host of other distractions, so I'll have to be diligent. Wow, I posted a song on Soundclick and I'm totally shocked that a couple of people actually downloaded it! Granted I only posted here and sent the link to a few friends and acquaintances, so it got the response I expected. Although I wish I would've gotten some feedback on it. I'm working on more songs, but they will probably have to wait until I have more time (Documentary is very time consuming!)

Stuff I've been listening to: (So you can figure out where I'm at)

Neil Young - Greatest Hits
Fountains Of Wayne - Fountains Of Wayne
VH1 Classic - "The Alternative" program- They played Paul Weller with an acoustic version of "That's Entertainment" followed by Pavement's "Cut Your Hair"
Beth Orton - Comfort Of Strangers
