How Soon Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot?

Looking forward to a new year in a few hours, which I'm spending by myself, sitting in front of my computer screen with a frosty beverage. So this woman from my class that I wrote about a couple of weeks ago, the one I couldn't stop thinking about and how I blew it. I made a mix CD and sent it to her, per suggestion of my friend K. K said she's never met a woman that wouldn't respond to "such a romantic gesture." Well apparently I have! I sent it so she would get it before Christmas and being over a week since it's been in her possession with no contact from her, I suppose it wasn't meant to be. Sure I'm disappointed, but I can move forward. It's a new year, full of possibilities and opportunity and unexpected surprises!
