The Sequel

Why does everything seem to come around full circle sometimes? Is it because we run out of new ideas? Or is it because we find it easier to revisit old territory rather than stake out new ground? Maybe it's because the money is just too good to pass up. Maybe it's because we want to start over again, but left something unfinished. Maybe it's a combination of all those things. Looking through a box of old stuff, I found a screenplay I never finished writing. I started reading it and a few pages in realized why I never finished it. I was dissatisfied with the direction it was going in. I put it back in the box and left it until the next time I decide to clean out the studio.

Ah, I have that "writing" experience fairly often myself. It is nice to re-read the old things you wrote because it not only reacquaints you with the old story and your writing process, but also reminds you of where you were, what your life was like, when you were writing it.

Suppose I could look at it that way. I was young and foolish and trying to write the next blockbuster. All I needed was to finish it and I'd take the film industry by storm!
